In the immortal words of Primal Scream: “Can’t go back, I can’t go back.”
It’s with great surprise that here, in 2015, I find myself playing yet another FMV game – an episodic one no less.
The way in which the game leaves you to your own devices could be described as total abandonment more than a lack of hand-holding, resulting in a frustrating experience, and is definitely not fun.
Supreme League of Patriots main draw isn’t its bog-standard gameplay, rather it’s the discourse between Kyle, Mel and the other goofballs you’ll meet between the game’s opening and closing scenes.
The story is spellbinding, the soundtrack is simply gorgeous, and the entire game is a love letter to 90s point and click adventure, back when the genre was in its prime
If you are a fan of the point and click genre you owe it to yourself to enter into The Inner World and explore every nook and cranny.
There is a lot to like here, and the weaknesses in graphics and voice acting are countered with excellent storytelling and drizzled with atmosphere.
